Food Packaging Design GDUSA American Package Design Awards
Project Overview
The Noa Noa food truck serves a variety of Polynesian sushi rolls along with a “Create Your Own” option. The overall design was influenced by the Tahitian culture and the traditions of tattooing. Each symbol in the concentric circles has a symbolic meaning in the culture.
My Contributions
The purpose of the designs was to convey the idea of connectivity. Passing down stories and traditions through generations is a key element within the Tahitian culture which sparked the concept of the designs. Additionally, the connection between the gods in the heavens and the people on Earth is shown through the specific symbols chosen in the food truck pattern.
Project Overview
The packaging offers single or double-roll-sized containers allowing for easy transport from the food truck. The menu card uses clean and simplistic typography with bold headers to balance out the complexity of the tattoo pattern.
My Contributions
The packaging remains consistent with the food truck design with the combination of the complex pattern on the inside and a minimalistic aesthetic on the outside.
